Who we are

What data we collect

Chat messages: When a visitor uses the AI chat widget, the message text and the URL of the page they are on are sent to our servers to generate a response. Messages are processed in real time and are not stored permanently in demo mode.

Usage analytics: We count the number of chat messages per domain per day to monitor service usage. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.

Install pings: The chat widget sends a lightweight ping when a page loads, containing only the domain name and whether an API token is present. This helps us understand where the widget is installed. No visitor data is included.

Rate limiting: In demo mode, we store a hashed IP address to enforce a daily message limit (5 messages per IP per 24 hours). Hashed IPs are not linked to any other data and are automatically purged.

Website analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use embedai.dev. This is standard web analytics and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

How we use your data

We use data solely to provide and improve the EmbedAI.dev service. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies

The EmbedAI.dev chat widget uses browser localStorage to track demo message counts per visitor. It does not set any cookies. The embedai.dev website uses cookies only via Google Analytics.

Data retention

Demo chat messages are processed in real time and not permanently stored. Pro customers' data is retained for the duration of their subscription and deleted upon request. Usage analytics are retained for up to 12 months.

Your rights

If you are based in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at orrdee@embedai.work and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
