Meanwhile, overall jobs are down 5.8%. It seems vibe coding tools like Lovable and Claude haven't replaced software engineers quite yet - they've actually increased demand for developers. As predicted by us glass half full people...the collapsing cost of software means that software can now be created and used in huge numbers of businesses and situations where it was just too expensive before...don't retrain as a plumber quite yet.
